How to Verify a Dermatologist

Make sure your skin, hair and nail treatment is done by a qualified dermatologist.

Three simple checks

  1. Qualification: A dermatologist holds MBBS plus a postgraduate degree in Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy (MD / DNB / DVD). Ask to see it.
  2. Registration: Every doctor must be registered with a State Medical Council or the National Medical Commission. The registration number is usually shown on the prescription.
  3. IADVL membership: Use the search here, or scan the QR code on the doctor's IADVL Kerala verification card - it opens the doctor's verification page on this website.

Scanning a QR code

Genuine QR codes open a page on iadvlkerala.org showing the doctor's name, photo and membership status. If the page opens on any other website, the code is not genuine.
